Celebrating Homecare Day - 22nd September '21

VE Day 01

We are very proud of every member of our team who goes above and beyond with our clients, helping them to live well at home and remain independent.

First4Homecare is honouring its careworkers and recognising their amazing work by taking part in the first ever ‘Celebrating Homecare’ day, organised by the Homecare Association and the Care Workers’ Charity.

Throughout the day, First4Homecare will be celebrating the amazing difference homecare makes in people's lives with our clients and care staff and helping raise awareness of the value this service brings to people.

Homecare Top 20 Award (South West)

Fiona Hodder - Care Manager

Top20 Award

We are very proud to announce that First4Homecare Ltd has been named in the top 20 providers in the South-West for the third time in four years.

One of the UK’s leading Home Care review websites Homecare.co.uk publishes annual awards which recognises 20 of the top-rated Home Care providers in each region of the UK and the Top 20 Home Care Groups in the UK based on reviews from clients and their family and friends. The Awards are based on the Review Score, as of 30th April 2021.

Director and Care Manager Fiona Hodder said: “We are thrilled to once again be in the “Top 20 in the South-West” on www.homecare.co.uk. This award belongs predominantly to our wonderful staff who deliver professional and high-quality care to our lovely clients each and every day.

Our aim has always been to deliver excellent care in a friendly and supportive way and to act as “an extra family member” where required to ensure that everyone around our clients, whom they wish to be involved, is kept informed.

Care may range from a weekly social call to full end of life care and in every case, we seek to build superb relationships, so our visits are looked forward to and trusted.
This award and the lovely comments made in our testimonials by our clients and their families bear testament that we achieve those aims and we will continually seek to improve and find new ways of working.

It is especially poignant to us this year as we have continued to deliver care safely throughout the recent lockdowns and this has been due to the fantastic commitment and passion shown by our staff.”

Real Living Wage - November 2020

VE Day 01

The real Living Wage is a UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by nearly 7,000 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a wage which meets everyday needs and is based on the cost of living. First4homecare are proud to be an accredited Living Wage Employer.

The Living Wage campaign is an independent movement of businesses, organisations and people who believe a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. Employers choose to pay the real Living Wage on a voluntary basis - it provides an ethical benchmark for responsible pay.

The new rates for 2020/21 were announced on 9th November 2020 as £9.50 per hour in the UK and £10.85 for London.

Covid-19 Vaccinations - We've been jabbed!

VE Day 01

With the continued rollout of the Covid-19 vaccinations across the UK, part of the biggest inoculation programme this country has ever launched, we're please to announce that all of our First4Homcare staff have now had their first vaccinations against the Covid-19 virus.

Our team were included as high priority within the vaccination programme and we see this as a huge step forward in our ability to keep our clients both safe and well.

We still have very strict infection control protocols in place and will continue to wear PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) as guided by Public Health England and Local Authority guidelines for the foreseeable future.

VE Day Celebrations - 8th May 2020

VE Day 01

VE Day was a date that many of our clients remembered perhaps as young children, adolescence or young adults in war time service. We didn't want the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions to totally prevent celebrations, so we delivered a cream tea to each and everyone of our clients in the safety of their own homes.

Apart from ensuring they enjoyed a delicious treat, safety was the order of the day with tea delivered by masked staff!
